Welcome to the Mountain Heritage CTE Career Center

Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academic knowledge, technical skills, and real-world experiences needed to prepare for future employment and post-secondary education. Through career pathways and hands-on learning, students explore interests, develop workplace skills, and connect learning to meaningful career goals.

At Mountain Heritage High School, CTE programs and Career Center services are coordinated by Nicole Robinson, Career Development Coordinator, who oversees the CTE Internship Program, Work-Based Learning initiatives, and Career Development Plans, supporting students as they connect their strengths and interests to future career pathways.

Internship Requirements

An internship is a work-based learning experience where a student participates in the daily operations at a work site under the direct supervision of a business mentor.  To receive high school credit for an internship experience, a minimum of 120 documented work hours are required. Students are NOT allowed to complete more than one period of a CTE Internship within the same semester.  Internships  prepare students  for postsecondary education and future careers through observation and participation in the daily operations of a career in a general career field, provide experience in real-world application of job tasks acquired by utilizing durable employability skills in an authentic workforce activity, and allow students to gain the knowledge and skills for careers in the pathway of the students choice.
