🚨 Due to a water main break, Mountain Heritage High School will dismiss at 10:00 a.m. Buses will take students home as normal. Athletic practices will be held after school at regular times. All other schools will remain on a regular schedule.

The Yancey County Schools family is deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss experienced by one of our staff members whose husband and grandson—also one of our students—passed away in a recent accident.

Our top priority is providing care and support to our students, staff, and the family during this incredibly difficult time. Additional counseling and emotional support services are available to both students and employees.

We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her as she mourns the loss of her husband and her beloved grandson.
